David Ellison, who joined FMO as its full time Membership Manager in November, is looking forward to meeting members exhibiting at and visiting Optrafair from 30 March to 1 April. Planning for Optrafair 2020 is well underway, with the FMO developing its long running, successful partnerships with ABDO, FODO and BCLA to ensure that the whole optical industry is once again represented at the show.
David is working closely with Andrew Yorke, FMO’s Chair, Stuart Burn, its Vice Chair, the Board of Directors and members to improve existing member benefits and add new ones.
“Of course FMO isn’t just about Optrafair”, David pointed out, “We are organising meetings and events for our members all year round. The Equipment, Lens and Frame Focus Groups will meet shortly, as well as the Standards Panel.”
“It’s important to keep members engaged throughout the year and to work with trade associations and professional bodies to respond to consultations on major issues within the optical industry, as we did recently on Brexit no deal contingency plans.
“Members can keep up to date with developments in the optical industry via our recently revamped Industry Insider, which is published fortnightly.
“We are currently working on a raft of member benefits which our members will be able to take advantage of all year round.”
